Ant & Grasshopper
 
Traditional Version
The Ant works hard in the withering heat all summer building its house and laying up supplies for the winter.
 
The Grasshopper thinks the Ant is a fool and laughs & dances & plays the summer away.
 
Come winter,the Ant is warm and well fed. The Grasshopper has no food or  shelter so he dies out in the cold.
 
Modern Version
 
The Ant works hard in the withering heat all summer building its house and laying up supplies for the winter.
The Grasshopper thinks the Ant's a fool and laughs & dances & plays the summer away.
 
Come winter, the shivering Grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the Ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving.
 
Geo TV, BBC, ARY, CNN show up to provide pictures of the shivering Grasshopper next to a video of the Ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food.
 
The World is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be that this poor Grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?
 
Asma Jahangir stages a demonstration in front of the Ant's house.
 
Imran Khan goes on a fast along with other Grasshoppers demanding that  Grasshoppers be relocated to warmer climates during winter.
 
Amnesty International and Chief Justice Iftikhar criticizes the Pakistan Government for not upholding the fundamental rights of the Grasshopper.
 
The Internet is flooded with online petitions seeking support to the Grasshopper (many promising Heaven and Everlasting Peace for prompt support as against the wrath of God for non-compliance) .

MQM Coalition in Sindh immediately passes a law to bring about equality among Ants and Grasshoppers.

Many years later...
 
The Ants have since migrated to the US , Canada , UK and Middle East, have worked harder then they did before set up a multi-million dollar business.
 
1000s of Grasshoppers still die of starvation despite reservation somewhere in Pakistan ...
 
As a result of loosing lot of hard working Ants and feeding the Grasshoppers, Pakistan is still a developing country !!!

A professor stood before his Philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.
 
He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
 
He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor, as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.

'The golf balls are the important things - your God, family, your children, your health, your friends, and your favorite passions - things that, even if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full'.
'The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car'.
'The sand is everything else-the small stuff'.
'If you put  the sand into the jar first,'
he continued,
'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls'.
'The same goes for life'.

'If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you'.
'Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness'.
'Play with your children'.
'Take time to get medical checkups'.
'Take your partner out to dinner'.
'There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal'.
'Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter'.
'Set your priorities'.

'The rest is just sand'.
 
One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled. 'I'm glad you asked'.
'It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a cup of coffee with a friend. And who could be the best friend then a God. Offer prayer and read Quraan'.

He should treat his wife well, express his love

Appreciate her for all that she does

When he comes home from work, greet her and smile

Realise that household chores is no easy life

He should share in the housework, lend her a hand

Be patient with her, sometimes say “Thanks’

A compliment or two also goes a long way

‘I just loved the food you cooked today.”

Avoid scolding her and in fact, he should try

To not say things that will make her cry

A woman is sensitive - it’s the emotions in her

That makes her so loving, and a fine nurturer

If she should err, rather than shout

Explain to her gently what it’s all about

As for important decisions in life

He should take them after consulting his wife

She is after all, his partner and friend

Happily together should their life be spent

It’s a great opportunity, not to be lost

Why go for conflict when life is so short

I urge you my friend, take my advice

Be kind, patient, generous, enjoy Paradise.
